Spring Hair Care in Washington: Fresh Starts, Healthier Hair, and Extension TLC

Spring in Washington is full of promise—cherry blossoms bloom, the rain lets up just enough, and we finally get to shake off winter’s chill. But just like we swap out our wardrobes and routines, our hair also needs a refresh to transition into the new season—especially if you’re wearing extensions like Invisible Bead Extensions or investing in premium hair care.

Here are a few of my favorite spring hair care tips to keep your strands (and scalp!) healthy, shiny, and ready for warmer days:

1. Clarify, Then Rehydrate

After months of dry heat, wool hats, and extra product buildup, your scalp and hair are likely in need of a fresh start. Use a gentle clarifying treatment to remove buildup, followed by a moisture-rich mask to replenish hydration. If you’re wearing IBE, make sure your products are extension-safe and sulfate-free to protect the integrity of your wefts.

2. Brush with Care (and the Right Tools)

Spring is a great time to recommit to healthy brushing habits. Whether you’re detangling after a windy walk at the market or just refreshing your roots, use a brush that’s made to glide through both natural hair and extensions without tugging or damaging.

My go-to? The Goldie Locks Soft Boar Bristle Brush. It gently detangles, smooths flyaways, and helps evenly distribute your scalp’s natural oils—essential for IBE wearers who want to keep their hair and extensions looking seamless and nourished.

3. Lighten Up with Products and Styling

Spring humidity can bring out unexpected frizz or flatten volume. Focus on lightweight, hydrating products that nourish without weighing hair down. I love the Goldie Locks Signature Serum—it adds softness and shine without buildup, which is ideal for both natural hair and extensions.

And while we’re at it: cut down on heat styling when you can. Spring’s natural texture and tousled waves are always in.

4. Book a Refresh Appointment

If you’re rocking Invisible Bead Extensions, spring is the perfect time to book a reinstall or refresh. Wefts grow out with your natural hair, so keeping your rows maintained ensures they stay invisible, comfortable, and healthy.

This is also the season to try something new—face-framing layers, subtle color shifts, or even a few new wefts for volume are all great spring updates.

5. Don’t Forget the Scalp

Healthy hair starts at the scalp, especially here in Washington where changing temps and pollen can leave it dry or irritated. A weekly scalp treatment (like the Goldie Locks Scalp Serum) can rebalance your scalp, reduce itchiness, and promote healthy growth. Plus, it feels amazing.

Spring is a renewal season- your hair deserves the same energy. With the right care, tools, and support, you can keep your natural hair and extensions looking (and feeling) fresh, hydrated, and totally you.

Whether you’re in need of a seasonal hair reset, a brush upgrade, or your next IBE appointment, I’m here to help you step into spring with confidence.
